Meet Amy

My initial love was journalism. I earned my master’s in journalism from the Medill School of Journalism in Chicago and have worked for magazines and newspapers as both a reporter and editor. Along the way I developed a knack for clear, concise copy and old-fashioned storytelling always looking for a way into an ordinary business story with a personal anecdote or detail.

In addition to writing, I enjoy editing, specifically distilling copy down to its essence while retaining the writer’s original voice.

Red Fern Writing references my favourite childhood book Where the Red Fern Grows, a classic American tale about a boy and his hunting dogs in the Ozarks. I remember being perched on top of a set of built-in bookcases for what seemed like days, refusing to go outside or go to bed so that I might keep reading. The devastating ending taught me the impact of powerful content at an early age.

My goal is to provide personalized and compelling content that keeps you turning the proverbial pages of a website, corporate news release or news article just like a favourite childhood novel.
